You can find Laxmi Plastic at 1, Meer Bahar Ghat Street, which is inside the Raja Katra area of Burrabazar. If you have ever been to Burrabazar, you know it is one of the most crowded places you can find. The lanes are very narrow and there are people everywhere carrying big bags on their heads. Our shop is quite old and we have been here for a long time. We have all sorts of plastic items crammed into every corner of the shop. From the floor to the ceiling, there are buckets, containers, and household things stacked up. It’s a bit of a maze inside, but we know exactly where everything is kept. It’s always very hot and humid here, especially during the summer months. We don't have any air conditioning, just a couple of old fans that move the warm air around. We start work very early in the morning to beat the worst of the crowd. Dealing with the wholesalers and the transport guys is a daily challenge, but it is just how things work in this part of town. We don't have any fancy brochures or a website to show off. People find us because we have been at this address for years and years. It’s a busy, loud, and messy way to work, but we are proud to be part of the history of Burrabazar. We just keep our heads down and do our business as best as we can.
