Lallamookh Tea Co. Pvt. Ltd. has its office up on the 5th floor of Azimganj House at 7 Camac Street. If you know this part of Kolkata, you know how busy it gets with all the cars and people moving around. It is an older building, which gives it some character, I suppose. We handle the tea business from here, mostly the paperwork and the bigger deals with the gardens. It is a different world up here compared to the actual tea estates, but we still have samples everywhere. You cannot walk through the room without seeing little piles of tea leaves on the tasting tables. We spend a lot of time on the phone or sitting in meetings. It is not a flashy office, just a place where we get the work done. The elevator in this building has its moments, so sometimes we end up taking the stairs, which is quite a climb to the fifth floor. We have been here for a long time and the address is pretty well known in the local tea circles. There are a few of us who have been with the company for decades now. We just keep things moving, making sure the tea gets to where it needs to go. When the windows are open, you can hear the horns from Camac Street all day long. It is a bit noisy, but we are used to it by now.
