Lakshmi Narayan Tea House

You can find Lakshmi Narayan Tea House at 58 Ekdalia Road. We are situated in Ballygunge which is a part of town with a lot of history. The streets around here are narrow and lined with old houses and big trees. We have a small space where we keep our tea. It isn't a big operation by any means. We mostly just deal with the locals and the regulars who have been coming to us for years. Ekdalia Road is usually bustling with people going to the market or walking to the nearby stations. We see a lot of the same faces every single day. The shop has a wooden counter that has seen better days and some shelves that are stacked high. We don't really bother with decorating or making things look modern. It feels more comfortable this way. Some days it gets quite hot and we keep the fan running at full speed. We spend our time weighing out portions and talking to the people who drop in for a chat. It’s a friendly neighborhood and we feel lucky to be a part of it. There is always someone walking by with a story to tell. We just listen and keep the business moving. It is a quiet, simple way to make a living in Ballygunge. We close up once the evening rush slows down and the street lights come on. It’s just how we operate every day.
