Gariahat Road is always alive with something going on, and our office at 46/31/1 is tucked right into that energy. If you’ve ever walked down this street in Kolkata, you know exactly what I mean about the crowds and the street vendors. We are in an older building that has a lot of character, even if the stairs are a bit steep and the paint is peeling in some corners. Inside, it’s mostly just desks, old filing cabinets, and the constant sound of keyboards clicking. We don't have a big reception area or anyone to open the door for you; you just walk in and find someone at their desk. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, so the ACs are usually working overtime, making that low humming sound that we’ve all learned to ignore. We spend our days looking at data and systems, trying to make sense of things while the buses honk outside on the main road. It isn’t a glamorous job, and the office reflects that. We have some plants on the windowsills that someone forgets to water occasionally, and a small pantry where the kettle is always on. It’s a simple place for simple work. We don’t try to be something we aren't. We’re just a group of people in South Kolkata doing what we know how to do, day in and day out, while the city rushes past our windows.
