If you go down D. H. Road in Joka, you’ll find Kasturi Medical Research Centre P Ltd.- gipsa Ppn. It’s right opposite the 3a Bus Stand. Being near the bus stand means it’s always easy for people to get here. It’s a busy area. The building is fairly large and has various sections for different medical needs. We do research and also see patients. It’s a lot of activity all at once. The lobby has rows of chairs that are usually full by ten in the morning. At Joka, we see people from the city and also from further out. The staff is used to the crowd. We have a lot of paperwork because of the research side of things. It’s not a fancy place with gold trim. It’s more of a concrete and tile kind of building. We have several floors, and the lift works most of the time. The air conditioning is a relief when it’s hot outside on D. H. Road. We don’t have any big marketing slogans. We just provide medical services to the people who walk in. It’s a practical operation. We keep the equipment in good shape and make sure the floors are mopped. It’s a long day for everyone, but we get the work done. The tea stall nearby is where some of us go for a break. You can hear the buses pulling in and out across the street. The name on the front is big enough to see.
