Kanbay Software

Our office is tucked away in Ahutibagan, over in the Sonarpur area of Kolkata 700150. We work on software and technology things, which usually means we spend a lot of time staring at computer screens. It’s a bit of a trek for some people to get out here, but it’s a good spot for us. We started with just a couple of computers and some ideas about how to fix technical problems for other businesses. It’s grown a bit since then, but we still feel like a small team. There’s always someone drinking tea and trying to figure out why a piece of code isn't working right. We don't have a flashy lobby or a bunch of receptionists. It’s mostly just desks, cables, and people typing. The neighborhood is pretty typical for Kolkata, with lots of sounds and smells coming in from the street. We’ve been here long enough that we know the local shops and where to get a quick lunch. The work we do is technical, but we try to talk about it in a way that makes sense to everyone else. We aren't trying to be the biggest software firm in the world. We just want to do a decent job for the people who hire us. Sometimes the power goes out or the internet acts up, and we just deal with it like everyone else. It’s just a normal workplace with normal people doing their best.
