Our office is located in the Mani Casadana building out in Newtown, Rajarhat. We are up on the 4th floor of the East Tower, specifically in Unit 4ES8D 2. Newtown is always growing, so there is usually some construction noise or new buildings popping up nearby. It’s a bit different from the older parts of Kolkata, more open and spread out. Inside the East Tower, things are pretty modern, but our actual workspace is just a standard office setup. We’ve got our rows of monitors and a lot of tangled cables under the desks. Technology solutions take up most of our time, so we’re usually staring at code or troubleshooting something. It’s a quiet atmosphere for the most part, except when we’re all trying to figure out a particularly tough problem. We take the elevators up every morning and look out over the Rajarhat area. It's interesting to see how much it changes every month. We don't have a big reception area or a person greeting you at the door; it's just us in the back getting things finished. The commute out here can be long depending on where you're coming from, but once we're in the unit, we just get to work. It’s a practical place to be for what we do. We try to keep the pantry stocked with some basic stuff, but mostly we’re focused on the screens. The air conditioning is usually a bit too cold, so we keep sweaters at our desks to stay warm.
