Junior Software Engineer

I’ve set up my workspace at 33 D Ramkrishna Sarani in the Dhalipara neighborhood of Kolkata. It’s a residential area mostly, so it’s a bit quieter than the main city center which helps when I’m trying to focus on code. Being a Junior Software Engineer here means I’m often stuck behind my laptop for hours at a stretch, usually with a fan pointed directly at me because the Kolkata humidity is no joke. The building isn't anything special, just a typical house in the 60 pincode area that has been converted for work use. I usually start my morning with a walk down Ramkrishna Sarani to grab some breakfast from the local vendors before I settle in. The internet can be a bit finicky sometimes when the weather gets bad, but we make do. It’s a very local vibe here; you hear the sounds of the neighborhood, kids playing, and people chatting while you’re trying to debug a script. I don’t have a fancy office with a ping pong table or free snacks. It is just me, my computer, and a lot of tea to keep me going. Sometimes the neighbors ask what exactly I do all day staring at a screen, and it’s hard to explain without sounding boring. It’s a simple life and I’m just trying to build my skills one line of code at a time in this corner of the city.
