You can find Jalinga Tea at 21, R. N. Mukherjee Road. This is an old part of the city, and the building we are in has that classic heavy feel to it that you only find in historic districts. R. N. Mukherjee Road is always bustling with activity. There are offices everywhere, and the street is filled with the sound of yellow taxis honking and people rushing to their jobs. Our space is up a flight of stairs that have been worn down by many years of use. Inside, it is a bit quieter, but you can still hear the city hum through the windows. We spend our time here dealing with the administrative side of the tea business. There are plenty of ledgers, stacks of paper, and phones that ring at odd hours of the day. It is a contrast to the green fields where the tea actually grows, but it is where the deals get made. We do not have a modern, polished look. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the furniture is mostly heavy wood that has seen better days. But it works for us. We have our tea delivered from the estates, and we spend a lot of time tasting samples right here at the desks. It is a practical office for people who care about the product more than the decor. Outside, the tea stalls on the sidewalk are always busy, which reminds us why we do what we do.
