Our spot for Infomedia India Ltd is at 20A Tamer Lane in Kolkata. It’s an old part of town, and our building has that weathered look you only get after many years of city life. We work with media and information, which basically means we deal with a lot of directories and lists. The office is filled with books and old files that go back a long way. It’s not the kind of place where everything is shiny and new. We have old wooden desks and chairs that creak a bit when you sit down. Most of the day is spent updating records or talking to people about where they can find specific information. Tamer Lane is a narrow street, so it’s usually pretty cozy and quiet compared to the main roads. We like the history of the place. It feels like we’re part of the old soul of Kolkata. We don’t have a big marketing department or anyone to tell us how to sound professional. We just come in, do our work, and head home. Sometimes we get visitors who are lost looking for another building, and we try to help them out. It’s a steady kind of life, and we’ve gotten used to the way the light hits the office in the late afternoon. We just keep doing what we’ve always done, which is keeping track of the info people need.
