Our office is at Gajraj Point on A J C Bose Road. We are on the first floor, right in the Park Circus area. If you’ve ever been around here, you know it is one of the busiest parts of Kolkata. The noise from the street never really stops, but we have gotten used to it. We work in the tea business, but we don't spend our time in the fields. Instead, we are here at our desks, talking to people on the phone and keeping track of shipments. It’s a very practical kind of job. The office isn't anything special to look at. It has desks, chairs, and stacks of paper everywhere. We aren't a big company with hundreds of workers. We are just a small group trying to make sure the tea gets from the estates to where it needs to go. Sometimes the logistics get complicated and we have to stay late to sort things out. We don't have a mission statement or any fancy words to describe what we do. We just come to work, do what we can with the orders, and try to keep everything organized. It’s not always easy, especially when the weather is hot or the traffic is bad, but we just keep at it. We are just people who know the tea trade and want to do our job every day without any extra drama or polish.
