You can find us at No. 17/1 NC Mitra Road, which is pretty close to the Dumdum Cantonment station. It’s a classic Kolkata neighborhood vibe around here. The street is narrow and usually packed with people and rickshaws. We have a modest space where we do all the physiotherapy work. It’s not one of those high-end clinics with glass walls; it’s just a ground-floor spot that’s easy to walk into. The walls have a few posters about bones and muscles, and the furniture is mostly wooden and sturdy. We get a lot of older folks from the surrounding houses who walk over for their sessions. Since the station is nearby, we also see people stopping in on their way home from the city. The humidity can be tough, so the ceiling fans are always spinning at full speed. We have a small sink in the back and a place to hang coats. There is a constant hum of the city outside that we’ve just grown used to over the years. We usually have a newspaper lying around for anyone waiting. Our days are filled with the sound of stretching exercises and the occasional groan when someone finds a sore spot. It’s a very straightforward operation. We open up early and stay until the last person is taken care of.
