We’ve been at 6 Ganesh Chandra Avenue for quite a few years now. If you know this part of the city, you know how busy it gets with all the traffic and people looking for electronics. Saboo Computers Pvt. Ltd. is basically just us in a small space filled with boxes and cables. We spend most of our days looking at screens or trying to figure out why a motherboard isn't acting right. It’s not a showroom where everything is shiny. We have shelves stacked with parts and there is usually a bit of dust because of the open windows. People stop by when their office computer stops working or they need a specific cable they couldn't find elsewhere. Sometimes it’s quiet and we just catch up on paperwork, but usually, there's someone coming in with a laptop that won't turn on. We don't have a big team or anything like that. Just a few of us who know our way around a PC. The building itself is old, so the lift can be a bit temperamental sometimes. Most folks just take the stairs if they aren't carrying something heavy. We keep fairly regular hours, though we might stay late if a job is proving difficult. It’s honest work and we’ve gotten to know the other shop owners on the street over the years. We just do what we do and try to get things back to the owners as soon as we can.
