Fern Computers

Ballygunge Garden is a nice enough place to spend the day. Our office is at number 67, and it’s mostly just a quiet room filled with computers and the sound of fans whirring. We’ve been in this spot for some time now. Ballygunge has that specific feel to it, a bit busy but also residential. When you walk into Fern Computers, you won’t find any marble floors or people in suits. It’s just us sitting at our desks, usually surrounded by a few piles of papers and half-assembled machines. Sometimes the neighbors pop their heads in to ask if we can look at a laptop that won’t start or to borrow a screwdriver. We don’t mind. The tea stall around the corner is where we usually get our afternoon break. The light comes in through the side window in the mornings, which is nice, but it gets a bit warm by three o'clock. We don't have a big marketing team or anyone to answer phones with a script. If you call, you just get one of us. We spend most of our time troubleshooting things or setting up systems for people nearby. It is a straightforward way to make a living. The space is a bit small, so we have to keep things organized or we’d never find anything. It’s just a normal workplace where the work gets done without much fuss. That’s about all there is to it. We keep things simple and just focus on the tasks at hand.
