We've been at 3-B Lalbazar Street for a while now. Getting up to the second floor is just part of the morning routine for us, even if the stairs are steep. It’s a busy area with a lot of traffic and noise from the cars outside, but once you step inside, we just focus on the tea bags and crates. We deal with various batches coming in and out every single week. Usually, there’s a lot of paperwork piled up on our desks and the smell of dried leaves is everywhere in the rooms. We don't have a big fancy lobby or any receptionist sitting there, just the workspace where the tea gets sorted and checked. My desk is tucked near the window so I can see the street below. Sometimes it's very loud, but you get used to the city sounds after a month or two. We handle the shipping and the inventory mostly. It's a lot of lifting and moving boxes around the storage area. Sometimes the lift works and sometimes it's just better to take the stairs if you're in a hurry to get things done. We keep the whole place pretty simple. There are tea samples sitting in glass jars all over the old wooden shelves. We spend most of our day checking the quality and making sure the orders are ready for whoever is picking them up. It’s just how we do things here. Lalbazar is a good spot because we are close to the main hubs, even if parking is a total nightmare for the truck drivers.
