Equip Earth Movers

If you are looking for us, you have to head up to the third floor at 4 Prinscep Street. It’s an old building, and the stairs can be a bit of a workout if you’re doing it several times a day. We don’t have the big machines parked right outside because, well, it’s Prinscep Street and there is barely room for a bicycle some days. We handle the business side of things from here, coordinating where the earth movers need to be and who is operating them. It gets pretty cramped in the office with all the maps and the maintenance logs piled up. You can hear the city noise coming through the windows all day long—horns, people shouting, and the general bustle of the street below. We’ve been in this building for a while now, and we know all the neighbors. It’s a bit of a maze getting up here, but we like it. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are usually too busy on the phone or out at a site to worry about that. My tea guy brings up a tray twice a day, which is probably the highlight of the afternoon. We mostly deal with contractors and people who need heavy gear for a few days. It’s a lot of logistics and hoping the weather stays clear so the machines don't get stuck in the mud somewhere far away.
