Dooteriah & Kalej Valley Tea Estates Pvt. Ltd. is located at 9, Hungerford Street. It’s an address that’s been on our letterhead for quite some time. The office isn't anything you'd see in a magazine, just a place with desks and a lot of filing cabinets. Being on Hungerford Street means we are right in the middle of things, but once you step inside, it’s mostly just the sound of typing and people talking on the phone. We deal with the tea estates, which involves a lot of back-and-forth communication. Sometimes the rain makes things difficult at the estates, and we hear about it here in the office. It’s a lot of logistical work that most people don't really think about when they have a cup of tea. We have a small staff and everyone knows what they’re supposed to do. Sometimes the power goes out or the internet acts up, and we just have to wait it out like everyone else. It’s a lived-in space. There are old maps on the walls and plenty of ledgers. We don't really do much in the way of advertising because we’ve been here so long that people who need to find us usually do. It’s just a steady, everyday kind of job at 9 Hungerford Street. We show up, do the work, and go home. That’s how it’s been for years. It’s a simple life. We don't change much.
