Dooteriah & Kalej Valley Tea Estates Pvt. Ltd.

Our office is up in the Krishna Building, right on A.J.C. Bose Road. We are in rooms 1004 and 1005. It's a busy part of town and the traffic is pretty much constant outside. From up here, we manage the Dooteriah and Kalej Valley tea estates. It’s mostly about keeping track of the production and making sure the tea gets from the gardens to the markets. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to managers on the ground. The office itself is functional. We have desks, chairs, and a lot of tea samples scattered around. Sometimes the smell of the different teas fills the whole room. We don't really have time for anything elaborate. We just focus on the quantities and the timing of the shipments. It’s a lot of logistics. When the season is busy, we’re often here late. We’ve been in this building for some time and know the other folks on our floor. It’s a regular routine of checking reports and responding to emails. Sometimes we have to deal with delays or issues at the estates, which can be stressful. But that’s just the nature of the business. We don't have a fancy lobby or anything like that. Just a workspace where we get things done. We prefer it that way. It keeps us grounded in the work we actually do. Usually, we end the day by making a final list for tomorrow morning.
