Ganesh Chandra Avenue is always moving. It’s a loud, busy street in the heart of everything, and Dev Enterprises is right in the middle of it at number 15. If you look up, you see the old architecture and the maze of wires running between the buildings. Our office is a busy spot where the phone never seems to stop ringing. We deal with all sorts of things throughout the day and there is always someone coming in or out with a delivery or a question. The floors are a bit worn down from all the walking and the elevator in the building is one of those old ones that takes its time. We don't mind it though. It gives us a chance to talk to the other people in the building. It’s not a polished, high-tech space. We have stacks of ledgers and boxes tucked into corners because we never seem to have enough storage. The windows look out onto the avenue and you can see the yellow taxis lined up below. It gets very humid in the summer, so we usually have a few fans going to keep the air moving. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a fancy office. We just want to get through the day's tasks and make sure everything is handled. It’s a practical way to run things in a very busy part of the city.
