Convex Infosystem

The ground floor at 68 D on Russa Road stays relatively cool, which is nice for the machines. We are right near Charu Market, so there is always noise from the vendors and people haggling over vegetables. Being in Tollygunge, you get used to the pace. Convex Infosystem isn't a huge place. It’s mostly just desks and a lot of screwdrivers. We deal with whatever comes through the door. Some days it’s a virus, other days a dead power supply. We have a small bench where we test things. The light in the back is a bit dim, but we manage. People find us because of the market landmark. It’s convenient for them to drop off a CPU and then go do their shopping. Russa Road is always busy with autos. Sometimes the dust from the road gets into everything, so we are constantly wiping down the monitors. We’ve got a couple of guys working here who know their way around a motherboard. It’s not like those fancy offices in the IT parks. We have a kettle for coffee and some old posters on the wall. The floor is a bit uneven, but it doesn't bother anyone. Most of our day is spent looking at blue screens and trying to figure out why things won't boot. It’s honest work. We know the regulars by name and they know us. We aren't doing anything fancy here, just fixing what breaks and keeping things running in this corner of Tollygunge.
