Calcutta Springs Ltd.

We’ve been at 18, R.N. Mukherjee Road for a while now, up on the 4th floor. It’s an old building, and the lift is sometimes slow, but it's where we get our work done. Calcutta Springs Ltd. isn't a fancy place. We mostly handle spring manufacturing and dealing with different metal parts for machinery. Our desks are usually piled with sketches and order sheets. The noise from the street downstairs comes up through the windows, but you get used to it. Most days are just spent making sure the orders are right and the machines are running how they should. We started out small and stayed that way, really. It’s just a group of us who know how to work with steel. Sometimes the heat in the summer gets a bit much, but we keep the fans going. People stop by the office to talk about specs or just to pick up their invoices. It’s a straightforward setup. We don't have a big reception area or anything like that. Just the workspace and the filing cabinets. We try to keep things organized, even if it looks a bit messy to someone walking in for the first time. We spend a lot of time looking at different types of wire and metal coils. Sometimes the orders are small, just a few custom pieces, and other times we are packing up boxes for hours. It’s a bit of a stubborn way to work, I suppose, but it’s how we’ve always done it.
