We are located at 5 Amrita Banerjee Road in Kalighat, which is a pretty historic part of the city. BRS System has been operating from this address for quite a while now. The road can be a bit narrow, so if you’re coming by car, it’s sometimes a challenge to find a spot. Most people just walk over from the main parts of Kalighat. Our workspace is pretty lived-in. We have shelves that are a bit bowed from the weight of all the old hardware we’ve kept over the years. It’s not a showroom, it’s a workshop. We spend our days troubleshooting software and swapping out broken parts. Sometimes the humidity makes it a bit sticky in the shop, but we’re used to it by now. We don't have any scripted ways of talking to people. We just tell it like it is. If a computer is too old to fix properly, we’ll say so. We have a lot of old manuals and spare screws in little plastic bins. It’s a small operation, just a couple of us working through the pile of jobs we have each week. We know the local shops around here and usually get our tea from the same guy every morning. It’s a quiet life, mostly just the sound of screwdrivers and the occasional beep from a motherboard. We like being in this part of town because it feels like home to us.
