Boralalingah Tea Company

We are based at 12, India Exchange Place. Boralalingah Tea Company is a name that’s been around for a bit. Our office is in a part of town that’s always been tied to commerce. It’s a lot of desk work mixed with handling samples from the gardens. We aren't a flashy outfit. The rooms are filled with folders, ledgers, and small tins of tea. It’s a very traditional way of doing things, and we like it that way. We don't have a mission statement hanging on the wall. We just come in, check the quality, and handle the sales. The tea business has its ups and downs with the seasons. We have to pay attention to a lot of small details. Being at India Exchange Place means we are near a lot of other businesses doing similar things. It’s a good community to be in. We don't use much marketing talk because the tea usually speaks for itself. It’s honest work that keeps us busy from morning till evening. Sometimes the weather affects how things go, but we just adapt. We’ve got a few people who have been with us for years. They know the routine better than anyone. We aren't looking to expand into something we aren't. We just want to keep operating out of number 12 and doing what we know how to do best, which is dealing in tea. It is what we know. It's been this way for a long time.
