Bajrang Tea Co Pvt. Ltd. is tucked away on Crooked Lane, which is exactly how it sounds. It’s a narrow bit of a road near the State Bank of India, so there’s always people walking past our door to go do their banking. We’ve been at Plot No. 11 for quite some time. The office isn’t anything special to look at, just some desks and a lot of samples of tea leaves scattered around. We spend most of our day talking to suppliers and trying to figure out the logistics of getting things moved from one place to another. It gets a bit cramped in here when we have a new shipment coming in, and the stairs are a little steep, but we make it work. Working in tea means there is always a specific smell in the air, sort of earthy and dry. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there; we just want to get through the day’s tasks without too much trouble. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit and wait, or talk about the cricket scores. It’s a decent enough place to work. We know the neighbors pretty well, and the tea we deal with is mostly the standard stuff people drink at home. It’s a regular business run by regular people who just know a lot about tea.
