Aurobindo Netralaya

Located at 4 A, Rajendra Deb Road, our place is right in the heart of Burrabazar. If you know this part of the city, you know how packed the streets are. Aurobindo Netralaya is not hard to find if you are walking, but bringing a big car into these narrow lanes is a real headache. We deal with eyes mostly. People come in with all sorts of vision problems throughout the day. The building is older, which is typical for this neighborhood. We try to keep things organized, but on Mondays, it is always a bit of a scramble with the crowd. The waiting room chairs have seen better days, honestly. There is a tea shop just around the corner that we all go to when things get quiet for ten minutes. It is not a quiet place because the street noise comes right through the windows. You hear the rickshaw horns and people shouting all day long. Our staff is mostly from around here. We speak the local language and just get on with the job. It is not a hospital with those glass elevators or fancy lobbies. It is a practical clinic. We see a lot of elderly folks who have lived in Burrabazar their whole lives. Sometimes we run out of forms and have to send someone to get copies made down the street. It is just the way things are done here on Rajendra Deb Road. We open early because the market is already awake by then.
