Amarawati Tea Company

We are based at 15, India Exchange Place. This is a very old and famous street for business, but our office is quite modest. Amarawati Tea Company has been tucked away in this building for quite some time. The hallways are narrow and the stairs are steep, so moving heavy tea samples up and down is quite a task. We don't have a lot of fancy decorations. Just some wooden shelves and a few old desks. Most of our day is spent on the phone or talking to people who come by the office. It is a busy atmosphere with a lot of shouting and noise from the street outside. We deal with a lot of different tea types. We spend hours tasting and checking the leaves in small white cups to see what we have. Our hands are usually stained with tea by the end of the day. It is a messy business, no matter how much you try to keep it clean. We don't use a lot of modern marketing tricks. We just rely on the relationships we have built over the years at India Exchange Place. Sometimes the paperwork gets piled up on the desks and it takes us days to clear it. It is just a normal, slightly chaotic workplace. We enjoy the work and the people we meet every day. That is really all there is to it. We just keep the tea moving out the door every single day.
