Amar Chemicals Kolkata is located at Number 36 Strand Road. We are on the fourth floor in Room Number 1. Being on Strand Road means we are right in the middle of all the trading action in the city. It’s a very old building, and the stairs are quite steep, so we usually hope the lift is working. Our office is just a single room where we handle all the orders and talk to our suppliers. It is often filled with samples and papers stacked on every available surface. We don't have a big corporate team; it is just a few of us managing the chemical trades. The noise from the traffic down on Strand Road is constant, but you get used to the honking and the shouting after a week or two. We spend a lot of time on the phone or writing out invoices. It’s not a polished environment. There’s a bit of peeling paint on the walls and the furniture has seen better days. But it’s where we do our business every day. We focus on getting the right chemicals to the people who order them without any unnecessary delays. It’s a lot of logistical work and checking specifications. We don't have any fancy mission statements or anything like that. We just come in, do the work, and go home when the sun sets over the river. That’s how it goes for us here.
