Aloka Sourya Bipani

Down here at Aloka Sourya Bipani, things move a bit slower than in the big cities. We are located right in Jukhia Bazar, which is part of the Bhupatinagar area in Purbamedinipur. It’s a bit of a walk from the main road, but everyone around here knows where the bazar is. The shop is usually open early in the morning because that’s when people are out doing their shopping before the sun gets too high. We have lived and worked in West Bengal all our lives, so we know how the weather can be, especially during the rainy season when the roads get a bit muddy. The building isn’t anything special, just a solid place where we keep our stuff and meet the locals. We talk to the neighbors, drink some tea, and handle whatever business comes our way that day. It gets quite crowded on market days, and the noise of the cycles and people talking fills up the whole space. We don’t have a website or fancy ads. Most people just walk in because they saw the sign or heard about us from someone else in the village. It’s a simple life at Jukhia Bazar. We try to keep the shelves tidy, but it doesn't always stay that way when things get busy. We are just a small part of this community, doing our bit day by day. When the electricity flickers during a storm, we just wait it out.
