At 210 Rabindra Nath Tagore Road, you’ll find us working away. This part of Kolkata has its own rhythm. Akb Pcpl is located in a building that has seen plenty of monsoons. The walls have that typical damp smell when it rains hard, which is quite often around here. Inside, the space is filled with the sound of keyboards and the occasional phone ringing. We have big wooden tables that have been here since we started. There are plenty of wires running along the floor, mostly taped down so nobody trips. We don’t really bother with decorations much. There is a calendar from three years ago still hanging on the wall because nobody felt like taking it down. We get our tea from the shop just down the street. It’s a busy road outside, and the sounds of the city come right through the windows. The ceiling fan wobbles a bit on high speed, but it keeps us cool during the humid months. We have a small area near the back where we keep the extra stationery and some old files. It’s not a polished corporate office, just a place where we put in our time. The neighbors are mostly other small businesses, so we see the same faces every day. It’s a steady routine. We open the shutters early and close them once the sun goes down.
