Air Control Engineering Pvt. Ltd. is based on Hemanta Basu Sarani. We are in Room No. 224 on the 2nd floor of number 21. It’s an old building, the kind you see all over this part of Kolkata. There’s no elevator, so we spend a lot of time walking up and down those stairs. The office itself is pretty cramped. We have desks piled high with papers and technical drawings. It’s not the most organized-looking place, but it works for us. Outside on the street, it’s always loud with taxis and people rushing around. Inside, we just focus on the air control projects we have on hand. We aren't a massive company with a lot of layers. Usually, when the phone rings, one of us just picks it up. We spend our days talking to suppliers and trying to figure out the best way to set up systems for the buildings we work on. It gets pretty humid in the office during the summer, even with the fans going. We usually grab lunch from the local stalls downstairs. It’s been our routine for years. We don’t have a marketing department or anyone to make us look bigger than we are. We’re just a small team in an old room in the middle of the city, doing engineering work day after day. It’s a bit dusty and the paint is peeling in spots, but it’s our space.
