Abound Event Management

We run Abound Event Management out of a small space in Tollygunge. It’s always a bit chaotic here. Between the phone calls and the lists of things we need to buy, there’s never a quiet moment. Tollygunge is a lively place to be, and we’re right in the middle of it. We don’t have a big fancy office with glass walls. It’s mostly just us at our desks, surrounded by samples of fabric, old flyers, and half-empty cups of tea. Planning events means we spend a lot of time out of the office too, meeting people and checking out venues. When we are here, we’re usually arguing about logistics or trying to find a vendor who actually answers their phone. It’s a lot of stress, but we’re used to it. We’ve been doing this for long enough that we know most of the local suppliers. Our desks are a mess of sticky notes and notebooks. Sometimes we lose track of time and realize it’s dark outside. We started this because we liked organizing things, even if it gets overwhelming sometimes. It’s not like what you see on TV. It’s mostly just hard work and making sure the chairs arrive on time. We like Tollygunge because everything we need is close by. It’s a good spot for us. We just keep moving from one project to the next, hoping the weather stays clear for the outdoor stuff. We keep at it every day, making sure the caterers and the lights are sorted before we head home for the night.
