You can find A. L. Sethi & Co. at 164, Mahatma Gandhi Road. This is a very old and busy part of the city. The street outside is always packed with people, rickshaws, and cars. It’s never quiet here. Our office is in one of those older buildings that has seen a lot of years. The walls are thick, and the ceilings are high. It feels different than the new glass buildings you see elsewhere. We’ve been here a long time, and the address is well-known in the neighborhood. Inside, it’s a bit of a maze with all the shelves and desks tucked into corners. We have stacks of ledgers and papers because that’s just how we’ve always kept track of things. It might seem a bit old-fashioned to some, but we know exactly where everything is kept. There is a certain rhythm to working on MG Road. You get to know the shopkeepers nearby and the people who sell tea on the corner. We don’t have fancy signs or anything like that. Just a simple nameplate. We come in every morning, open up the shutters, and get to work. The fans hum overhead all day long. It gets hot in the afternoons, but we just keep going. It’s a family-run feel even if we aren’t all related by blood. We just do our jobs and try to help the people who come through our door every day.
