Isha Waykool is right here at 1506 ‘C’ Word in Laxmipuri. We spend most of our days around Kondalane Chowk, dealing with whatever comes through the door. It’s a busy spot, especially in the afternoons when the traffic picks up near the junction. Sometimes it’s hard to hear yourself think with all the horns outside, but that’s just life in this part of town. I usually start the day early, opening up the shutters before the sun gets too high. The shop isn’t fancy or anything. It’s just a place where we do what we do. People from around Laxmipuri drop in, sometimes just to ask for directions or see if we’re busy. We’ve been at this address for a bit now and the walls show it. There’s a lot of old furniture and papers stacked up, but I know where everything is. It’s not about looking like a big office. We just want to get the work done and go home. On rainy days, the water pools a bit near the entrance, so we have to watch out for that. My neighbor usually stops by for a quick chat around noon. We don’t have any big speeches to give about what we do. We just open up, take care of whoever walks in, and keep things moving. It’s a simple way of living. We stay busy enough to keep the lights on and that’s plenty for us.
