Computer Garage

Computer Garage is located at Shop Number 44 in the Municipal Complex. We are right near the Bhagyarekha Cinema, so it’s easy to find us if you’re heading towards the theater. The complex is a bit of an older building, and our shop is one of those small units packed with electronics and spare parts. We have old monitors stacked in the back and cables hanging from hooks everywhere. It’s a bit of a mess to an outsider, but we know where every single screw and cable is. We spend most of our time at the workbench with a screwdriver in hand, trying to get someone’s laptop to turn back on or fixing a broken screen. It’s dusty work because computers seem to act like vacuum cleaners for dirt. We don't have a fancy waiting area, just a couple of blue plastic chairs by the door. People come in stressed out because their work is stuck on a broken hard drive, and we just tell them we will see what we can do to fix it. There is no corporate talk here, just plain speaking about what’s wrong with the machine and how much the parts might cost. The noise from the street and the cinema crowd sometimes drifts in, especially on weekends, but we usually have a fan going that drowns most of it out. It’s just a small shop for fixing things and getting people back to their work. We've been here long enough that people know our faces.
