We've been running N C H School here in Nariyandada for a while now. Most people around Alur know where we are. It’s a quiet spot in Coorg, which is nice for the kids because they don't have all that city noise to deal with while they’re trying to study. The school building isn't huge, but it does the job. We have local teachers who live nearby and they really care about how the children are doing. Mornings usually start with the kids walking up the road, some of them coming from quite a distance. We keep things pretty simple here. There’s a playground out back where they spend most of their breaks. It gets a bit muddy when it rains, but that’s just how it is in this part of the country. We try to make sure everyone feels welcome. It’s not just about books; we talk to the parents when they drop the kids off or when we see them at the market. Sometimes the electricity goes out, but we just carry on with the lessons anyway. It’s a small community and the school is a big part of that. We don't have fancy gadgets or anything, just desks, chalkboards, and people who want to see these kids learn something useful for their lives. If you’re passing through this part of Coorg, you’ll probably see our sign. We're just a regular school trying to help out the local families and it's where the neighborhood kids spend their days.
