Atlas Metal & Tools

We are located on Deshabhimani Road in the Ernakulam district. Our business is all about metal and tools, which means our day is filled with heavy lifting and the sound of iron hitting iron. The shop is more of a warehouse feel with high ceilings and metal racks. We carry a lot of different sizes of pipes, rods, and hand tools. It’s usually quite humid here in Kerala, so we have to be careful about rust and keeping things in good shape. The floor is rough and we wear heavy boots to stay safe while moving things around. Customers who come here are usually contractors or people doing their own building work. They know what they want, so we don't have to explain much. We just weigh the metal or count out the tools they need. Sometimes the rain is so heavy on the tin roof that we can’t even hear ourselves talk. We just wait it out and keep working. The office part is just a small wooden table with an old computer and a lot of paper notebooks for tracking the stock. It’s a gritty kind of job but we like the honesty of it. We aren't trying to be anything other than a reliable place to get metal. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know how to do. At the end of the day, our hands are dirty but we feel like we’ve actually done something real. That's just how we operate.
