Afford Clothing

We are located on the second floor of the Arakkal Building in Marottichuvad, Edappally. It’s quite close to Lulu Mall, so the traffic around here can be a bit much on the weekends. Our space is basically one large room filled with fabric and people. We don't have a fancy elevator, so we get our exercise climbing the stairs every day. The 2nd floor gives us a bit of a view of the street, but we don't spend much time looking out the windows. We have orders to fill and clothes to check. It’s a straightforward operation. We don't go in for big presentations or fancy displays. The clothes are usually stacked on wooden pallets or metal racks. We use simple tools and hard work. Most of us live in the Edappally area, so we don't have far to travel. We talk about local news while we work. It’s a comfortable atmosphere, even when we are in a rush. We don't have a big corporate office in some other city. Everything happens right here in this room. If there’s a problem, we fix it on the spot. We don't have a lot of rules about how things should look, just that the work needs to be done right. It’s a very hands-on kind of place. We like it that way because it keeps us close to the actual product we are making.
