Sarwangin Gramvikas Farmer Producer Company Limited

We are over in Batwadi, right near the post office in Kendra. That is where Sarwangin Gramvikas Farmer Producer Company Limited is set up. It is a small place, nothing too special to look at from the outside. We have a couple of rooms where we keep our supplies and do all the billing work. It is usually pretty quiet until the harvest starts, and then it is a lot of people coming and going at all hours. We have a small radio that plays in the background most days to keep us company. The floors are concrete and we try to sweep them every morning, but the dust always finds its way back in somehow. Batwadi is a tight community. We see the same faces every day. We don’t have any big corporate goals, we just try to help the local farmers get a fair shake. Sometimes we stay late to finish the books, and other times we close up early if there is a local festival or a wedding in the village. It is a very local way of doing things. We have a calendar on the wall from three years ago because we like the pictures of the mountains on it. We aren’t experts at business talk or anything like that. We just know how things work around here. It is just our little company in Kendra trying to make things work for the people we know. It is nothing fancy, just honest work every day. We are just glad to be a part of it.
