Satraj Ceramics

Satraj Ceramics is situated in the Industrial Area right near the Nehrupur Crossing on Gt Road. It’s easy to find because of all the ceramic pipes and tiles stacked outside. The Gt Road is always busy, so there’s a lot of dust and noise. We’ve got a big shed where we keep the finished goods. Ceramics are brittle, so we spend a lot of time wrapping things in straw or bubble wrap. It’s a messy process. The clay gets on your hands and stays there. We have a few kilns that we run on a schedule. You can feel the heat coming off them even when you’re standing outside the main door. We don't have a big team. It’s just a few of us who know how to mix the materials and watch the firing process. If the temperature isn't right, the whole batch can ruin. So we watch the gauges closely. We don't use any fancy marketing tricks. People just come to the Nehrupur Crossing and look for us. We've been here a while and know the local contractors. It’s a lot of standing on your feet and moving heavy crates. At the end of the shift, we usually sit outside for a bit to get some air. It’s just a regular local business doing what we know how to do with clay and fire. We try to sweep up the shards every evening so nobody gets a cut. It’s just how we run things.
