Smartnex Independent Study Abroad Llp is up on the second floor of the Vinaydeep Apartment. That’s Flat-202 in Unit-II, Bhubaneswar. Being in Unit-II means we are right in the middle of the city action. The apartment building is a bit older, and the stairs are usually faster than the lift if you are in a bit of a hurry. Inside the flat, we’ve turned the main rooms into our working area. There are maps on the walls and piles of brochures about different countries and universities. It’s a bit cluttered, to be honest. We have several desks shoved into the rooms to make space for everyone who works here. The balcony looks out over the street, and it gets pretty noisy with the horns and the general city bustle. We spend a lot of time on the phone or typing away at our laptops. Since it’s a study abroad business, we are always looking at clocks for different time zones to see if people are awake. The kitchen in the flat is where we keep the coffee machine, which is basically the heart of the office. We don’t have a big corporate sign on the building, just a small nameplate by the door. It’s a practical setup. We like being in a flat because it feels more relaxed than a cold office building. Most days are spent navigating paperwork and talking to students about their plans.
