Himadri Rice Industries

Himadri Rice Industries is located out in Gadarupas. It’s a bit of a trek if you aren't from around the Puri district. We are right there in Ganeswarpur, pretty close to the Punjab National Bank. Most of the folks who work here live in the village nearby. It makes things easier for everyone. We handle a lot of grain throughout the year. The mill stays busy and there is always a layer of dust on everything. My brother and I take turns watching the scales. We don’t have a website or anything like that. People just show up when they need something done. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except for when the machines are running full blast. You can hear the hum from the road. Being near the bank is helpful because people use it as a marker. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait around, but that's just life in Gadarupas. We just focus on doing the job right. We’ve seen a lot of seasons come and go from this spot. It’s a simple building with a lot of history for our family. We just keep our heads down and work. If you are looking for us, just head toward the Gpo-Village area and you'll find it eventually. It’s a solid place to work and we’re glad to be here. We don't need much more than the mill and a bit of good weather to keep things moving along.
