Radhvanaj Primary School

Radhvanaj Primary School is found in Village Radhvanaj, within the Tehsil of Matar. We are located quite close to National Highway 8, right by the Sandhana Toll Tax. Because of the highway, you can usually hear the sound of the big trucks passing by all day long. The school is a simple building meant for the younger children from the village and the nearby farms. It gets quite dusty here, especially during the summer when the wind picks up across the open fields. We have a basic courtyard where the kids can run around during their lunch break. There aren’t many extras here. We have classrooms with the basic necessities like benches and a blackboard. Most of the families in Radhvanaj work in agriculture, so the school is a central part of their daily lives. The teachers come in from Matar or other towns nearby to do their work. We deal with the heat and the power cuts just like everyone else in the village. Being so close to the toll tax makes us easy to find, even if the traffic can be a bit much sometimes. It’s just a small primary school doing what it can for the local children. We open up the gates early in the morning and stay until the sun starts to set. It is a very plain and practical place for the kids to spend their days.
