Sherchakla Banana Young Farmers Producer Company Limited

We are the Sherchakla Banana Young Farmers Producer Company Limited. Our home base is in Panch-Sherchakla, specifically in the Vill-Sher Chakla Tola-Sher Chakla area. We are located in the Gogri block of the Khagaria district. As the name of our company suggests, we are a group of younger people from the village who have come together to work with bananas. In this part of Khagaria, bananas are everywhere you look. It is the main crop for a lot of families around here. We felt that by teaming up, we could handle the business side of things a lot better than we could alone. We do not have a big corporate building or anything like that. Our meetings happen right here in the village, often outdoors or in someone’s front room. The work is physical and involves a lot of heavy lifting and long hours in the heat. We deal with the local markets and try to get the fruit moved while it is still fresh. It takes a lot of coordination between the families in the Tola to get everything done on time. Sometimes the roads are a mess or the rain makes it impossible to work, but we find a way to manage. We are just local guys who know how to grow fruit. We spend our time talking about irrigation and how to keep the plants healthy. It is a simple life, but it keeps us busy from dawn till dusk.
