Ardent Steel Ltd.

This branch of Ardent Steel Ltd. is down in Village Dhobadhia, which is in the Keonjhar district of Orissa. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here if you aren't from the area. The plot number is 208, and it's mostly open space and industrial structures. It’s a very different vibe from the city. Here, everything is about the steel and the raw materials. We spend most of our time out on the site or in the small office block we have. The roads can be a bit rough, especially when the rains come to Orissa. We have a local crew who knows the land well. We don't have much in the way of fancy amenities. There is a lot of dirt and heavy machinery around, which is just part of the daily life in a steel plant village. We focus on getting the production numbers right and making sure the transport is lined up. It’s a lot of physical work and coordination. We drink a lot of tea to keep going through the long shifts. The office is usually covered in a bit of red dust from the local ground. We don't mind it much. It’s just the way things are here in Keonjhar. We are part of the landscape now. It's a busy place with a lot of noise, but it's where the work is and we keep going regardless of the weather.
