Hikmah Islamic School

Hikmah Islamic School is located right in the Thayalangadi area of Kasaragod. It is a busy part of town, so there is always something going on outside our doors. The school itself is a straightforward place. We have our classrooms set up for the students who come from all over this part of Kasaragod. In the mornings, the street gets quite full with parents dropping off their children. Inside, it's a bit quieter than the main road, but you can still hear the traffic. We have desks and chairs that have seen better days, but they work fine for the lessons. The staff room is usually full of notebooks waiting to be checked. We don't have a big playground, just some space for the kids to stand around during their break time. The stairs are narrow and people are always rushing up and down them between periods. It’s a local school for local families. We focus on the daily lessons and making sure everyone follows the rules. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to open all the windows wide to get some air. It’s not a perfect setup, but it’s our school and we’ve been here for a while now. Everyone knows everyone else, which makes it feel like a small community inside the bigger town. We spend a lot of time organizing the books and making sure the schedule is followed properly.
