You’ll find our Export Unit-1 out on Mugal Majra Road in Vpo Kunjpura. It’s a bit of a drive out into the countryside, which makes sense for an agriculture business. The air is a bit clearer out here, but the roads can get pretty muddy when the monsoon hits. We spend a lot of time out in the yard where the grain or whatever we are processing is being moved around. The machinery is loud, so you have to yell to be heard most of the time. We work with a lot of local farmers who bring their stuff in by the tractor-load. It’s a lot of manual labor, checking the quality of the crops and making sure they are dry enough for the export containers. We have a small crew, mostly people who live in the nearby villages. We aren't fancy; the office is just a room with some chairs and a ledger where we keep track of everything. We take our tea outside under the shade of a big tree because the shed gets too hot in the afternoon. It’s a simple life out here in Kunjpura. We focus on getting the produce sorted and packed up so it can make the long journey to the port. There’s always something to fix, whether it’s a belt on the conveyor or a flat tire on a trolley. It is just what we do every single day to keep going.
