Dudeja Cement Store

Our store is located in Rajivpuram on Phoosgarh Road. We are right near Chandni Mahal so it is easy to explain the location to people. We sell cement and that is about it. The shop is basically a big room filled with stacks of bags. Everything has a layer of dust on it and our clothes usually end up gray by the end of the day. It is hard work carrying those bags around but it keeps us busy. We have a small desk near the front where we keep the books and handle the money. We don't have a computer or anything fancy like that. We just write everything down in our ledgers. Most of our customers are people from the neighborhood who are doing some small repairs or building a wall. We also have some builders who come by with their trucks to pick up larger loads. We have been here for a long time and we have seen the road change quite a bit over the years. It used to be much quieter but now there is a lot of traffic. We just keep to ourselves and do our work. When it rains we have to move everything inside quickly so the cement doesn't get ruined. It is a straightforward way to make a living and we are happy enough with the way things are.
