Dehati Building Material Store

Dehati Building Material Store is located on Novelty Road, right near the old Novelty Cinema. That cinema used to be the main attraction around here, but now it’s just a landmark for finding us. We deal with all sorts of building materials, so the place is usually covered in a fine layer of dust from cement or sand. It’s a tough job and the days are long. We start early when the trucks arrive to unload and we don’t finish until late. Our clothes are always stained with something by the end of the day. The road gets very busy with heavy vehicles, and it’s often hard for people to pull their carts in and out. We don’t have a polished showroom; it’s more of a yard with piles of stuff everywhere. It’s practical and it works for us. Most of the people who come to us are local contractors or neighbors fixing up their houses. We’ve seen a lot of buildings go up in this area over the years. It’s satisfying to know some of that stone or brick came from our yard. We don't have any fancy brochures or a website that works properly. We just talk to people face to face and give them a fair price. It’s a simple way of doing business that hasn’t changed much since we started. We just keep our heads down and work hard every single day.
