Ashoka Cem

Ashoka Cem is our place located on G.T Road, just behind Solvex and very close to Namastey Chowk. It’s a prime spot because G.T Road is so busy, though being tucked behind Solvex gives us a little bit of a shield from the constant noise of the trucks. We mostly deal with cement-based products and construction materials. The yard is usually white with dust, and our clothes end up the same way by the end of the day. Namastey Chowk is a major landmark, so it’s easy to tell people how to find us. We have a few sheds where we keep the bags of cement dry. When it rains, we have to scramble to make sure everything is covered up properly with tarps so nothing gets ruined. We don't have a fancy showroom. People just come to the gate, tell us what they need, and we load it up for them. It’s physical work, and we are usually pretty tired by the time evening rolls around. We’ve got a small kettle in the back for making tea, which is how we start most of our mornings. Mostly it’s just us sitting on crates and talking about the daily schedule. We don't have a big marketing budget or any of that. We just rely on the fact that we’ve been here a long time and people know where to find us.
