Vijayalaxmi Engineering Works

You can find Vijayalaxmi Engineering Works over in Basant Nagar, specifically at 5-73 here in Ramagundam. It’s a busy spot and we’ve been at this for a good number of years now. If you walk into our shop, you’re going to hear the sound of welding and grinding pretty much all day long. There is always some dust in the air and oil on the floor, but that is just how an engineering shop is supposed to look. We handle a lot of metal work and repair jobs for people in the neighborhood and the local industries. Sometimes someone brings in a broken tractor part or a gate that needs a new hinge, and we just get to it. We don't have a receptionist or a waiting room with magazines. You usually just find one of us covered in grease near the lathe machine or bent over a piece of steel. Ramagundam gets really hot in the summer, so we usually start quite early in the morning to beat the heat before the sun gets too high over Basant Nagar. We have some old fans going, but they don't do much when we are working with heat. It is just the way it is. We know our machines and we know how to fix things that people think are ready for the scrap heap. It is a simple life, working with our hands and making sure the jobs get finished by the end of the day.
